Meet Paul Valentine the Musical Director of the band. Paul first became interested in music when his Father conducted the Ramsgate Band back in 1974. He took up the Tenor Horn and after achieving a fair standard was able to join the band under his Fathers baton. Since then, he has taught himself both the tenor and baritone saxophone and now has moved on to the alto.
A few years under the baton of his Father and he was told to have a go out front himself. From that day he was hooked and his interest in conducting has grown to accommodate an experience of almost 20 years. When he's not involved in music, he runs his own car mechanic business and also can often be seen at the end of Deal pier dangling a rod over the edge trying to catch his supper!
